Welcome

Community Action Partners is a volunteer organization of Harvard Business School and Harvard Kennedy School alumni helping Boston-area nonprofits apply management skills to their business challenges.

Founded in 1993, Community Action Partners (CAP) marshals more than 100 HBS and HKS alumni volunteers each year to serve 13-16 nonprofits. CAP operates under the aegis of the HBS Alumni Association of Boston.   This year we are actually serving 19 clients with 116 volunteers and will provide more than 10,000 hours of pro bono consulting.

Since its inception, more than 800 CAP volunteers has served 154 nonprofit clients in a variety of sectors including arts & culture, education & out-of-school time, health & human services, housing & community economic development, conservation & environment, and workforce development.

CAP offers volunteer consulting assistance in such areas as:

  • market research and marketing strategy
  • financial planning and analysis
  • board development and governance
  • organizational development

"Our organization would not be where it is today without the support of CAP. Their advice and support has been invaluable to our growth and success."  - Julie Rosen, Executive Director, The Schwartz Center for Compassionate Healthcare
